VMware to bring VirtualCenter to Linux and Apple iPhone

VMware CTO Stephen Herrod has announced that the company is now working to bring their VirtualCenter management software to Linux and the Apple iPhone.

He was addressing the media at the VMworld conference.

He added that the company is also working hard on improving the technology to bring performance improvements to VMware’s core virtual machine technology.

This would allow businesses to run larger, more demanding applications on virtualized servers.

VMware’s VirtualCenter currently only works on the versions of Microsoft’s Windows Server OS.

He said: “The focus for VMware is to make sure we can run any application at all, no matter how much performance it demands.”
