McAfee launches Internet Security Suite 2006
Looks like internet suites are becoming a necessity considering just anti-viruses will not do in the current scenario. With internet becoming a must for computers, worms and spywares are becoming as big a nuisance as viruses in the past. Security companies started with offering add-on support for detecting these worms and spywares in their antivirus applications and now the end result is that the products have turned into a complete security solution.
Firewall application makers ZoneAlarm have a product called ZoneAlarm Security Suite, which combines the firewall with an ad-blocker, antivirus, and anti-spyware features. Now, McAfee have released a similar package in the form of McAfee Internet Security Suite 2006. The company says that the package is aimed at providing protections against spyware and phishing scams.
Of course, the product includes the usual virus and identity theft protection and is available for sale on the company’s website for USD 70. The application prohibits unauthorized access to and from the Internet, and blocks unwanted pop-up ads and unwanted programs that can lead to poor PC performance. It also prevents accidental deletion of important files from the computer.
This software application is also expected to be available from the software retail stores from October.
