Red Hat acquires virtualization company Qumranet

Linux Company Red Hat has announced their decision to acquire Israeli software company Qumranet.

Qumranet specializes in development of kernel-based virtual machine technologies.

The deal is worth USD 107 million.

Red Hat CTO Brian Stevens spoke about this deal: “Through this acquisition, Red Hat is assuring that KVM will remain open.”

Analysts believe that the company would also maintain its lead in this segment of the market with this acquisition.
