Google Chrome announced officially

This is now official. Google is formally entering into the web browser market. The company has confirmed that they are working on the new open source browser, Google Chrome.

It would be launched sometime today and would be made available to web users in more than 100 countries.

The company said that they decided to develop their own browser as it would add value for users and drive innovation on the web.

Almost every Google product requires a web browser so it was pretty obvious that they had to become a part of the web browser market.

The company of course already supports both Mozilla Firefox and Opera through search deals.

Google Chrome would be launched for Windows first and would be later released for Linux and Mac OS X.
