Google Android App Contest Winners Announced

Google has announced the winners of the contest for the developers of applications on their Android mobile platform.

Incidentally, all of the winning applications made use of GPS functionality in some way or the other.

There are applications like cab4me which integrates with Google Maps and using GPS to order a cab from the mobile phone.

Another GPS aware winning app is Life360 which enables the mobile users to stay in touch with each other.

GoCart enables the user to scan a bar code and it then shows local stores in the region which has that item in its inventory.
