Nvidia CUDA 2.0 released
Graphic card maker Nvidia has announced the launch of their CUDA 2.0 C language development environment.
The application enables development of technologies which enable software to take advantage of the graphic card installed on a computer.
As a result, some of the processing is shifted away from the central processing unit (processor).
Nvidia said that their new graphic cards are parallel processing engines which can be used to process tasks such as medical volume reconstruction and oil and gas seismic computing.
The latest version of Cuda supports Mac OS X in addition to Windows 32bit and 64bit. The company is also delivering Adobe Photoshop plug-in.
