Yahoo Buzz goes public
Yahoo’s Digg like web service Yahoo Buzz has now gone public.
This means any Yahoo user can now submit any web article on the web to the service for voting by other members.
Tapan Bhat, senior vice president of front doors, communities, and network services at Yahoo wrote in a blog post: “What does this mean for you? Anything you find on the Web is now buzzable.”
Web publishers would now be able to add a “Buzz Up” button to their Web site. Users would also be able to directly submit any web address on the service manually.
The most notable part of this service is that the top stories would get a mention on the Yahoo’s home page which is one of the most visited website in the world.
This is what makes it much more special then getting on Digg’s homepage.
