Flashforward2008 Conference Opens with a Bang; Closes with a Slam

The Flashforward Conference and Film Festival, which begins August 20 in San Francisco at the Masonic Center, announces the closing event. The three-day conference closes with a Tech Talk Slam comprised of twenty two-minute presentations – performed one after another – at the closing Flashforward Conference session. The Tech Talk Slam brings the Flash community together showcasing a broad spectrum of ideas, points of view, and opinions.
San Francisco, CA – The Flashforward Conference and Film Festival, which begins August 20 in San Francisco at the Masonic Center, announces the closing event. The three-day conference closes with a Tech Talk Slam comprised of twenty two-minute presentations – performed one after another – at the closing Flashforward Conference session. The Tech Talk Slam brings the Flash(TM) community together showcasing a broad spectrum of ideas, points of view, and opinions.
Potential presenters pitched the Flashforward Conference Team with ideas for their two-minute presentations and are expected to question, inform, and entertain Flashforward Conference attendees. In addition to the Tech Talk Slam the content-rich list of Flashforward speakers represent creative minds both inside and outside the industry.
The Flashforward Conference opens with keynote speaker Miha Pogacnik, who has been described as a “maker of magic.” Through his consummate violin artistry and his deep appreciation of the human journey, Miha is able to take his audiences through change and transformation. Pogacnik creates his unique spell to extract individual’s true awareness and capacity, implementing the powerful chemistry between creativity and business.
Included in the Flashforward Conference main stage speaker line-up are Grant Skinner, Why I (Still) Love Flash; Keith Peters, Putting the Flash Back in Flash; David Carson, The Rules of Graphic Design; and Jamy Ian Swiss, How Magic Works, Scott McCloud, Comics: A Medium in Transition; Karen Kimsey-House, Relationship as Foundation; and Lynda Weinman, Education in the Internet Age.
The Adobe keynote will be shared by three key Flash presenters from Adobe: Mike Downey, Principal Evangelist for Platform Business Development; Richard Galvan, Technical Product Manager for Flash; and Lee Brimelow, Platform Evangelist and award-winning interactive designer – prepare for the unexpected!
