McAfee Wireless Home Network Security Software

McAfee has launched a new application for the homes with Wi-Fi based Internet connectivity. The application provides protection against intruders and eavesdroppers. McAfee Wireless Home Network Security is developed to setup automatically an encryption keys on Wi-Fi routers and the PCs connected to them. It later rotates these keys after a period of time for further enhanced security.

The company says that the protection system is also compatible with the older Wi-Fi systems that use the WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) encryption system. Of course, it supports the more modern WPA (Wi-Fi Protected Access) and WPA 2 technologies. McAfee would be launching the product online next week and it would be available in the retail stores sometime next month.

McAfee Wireless Home Network Security Software is developed to keep malicious war drivers and neighbors from accessing your internal Wi-Fi system and from deciphering the packets that travel over the network. The technology is getting popular amongst the users most of whom are unaware of the potential dangers of wireless connectivity.

The company is not alone planning to provide security suites for the Wi-Fi Internet connectivity. Broadcom has also unveiled their security setup technology that was introduced in some Cisco products last month and may be coming to other vendors’ offerings soon. The application from McAfee supports Windows 98 Second Edition, ME, 2000 and Windows XP.

    I found another product that is free – it comes in a 3 user package that is free – go to http://www.lucidlink.com to learn more about it. Its a higher level of security. Its worth looking into.

    I am interested in selling and installing a wireless 4-camera/-alarm system, with a 3-year contract for monitoring, for small businesses. Do you have anything that might fit this description? Would you be interested in possibly supplying the system and purchasing the monitoring contracts?
    Thank You;
