Microsoft SQL Server 2008 launched
Software giant Microsoft has now launched the much awaited SQL Server 2008.
This latest edition of this suite includes improved data compression, better scalability, and easier management of concurrent workloads.
Ted Kummert, the VP of Microsoft’s data platform and storage division spoke about this edition: “If you added up all of our investments in SQL Server 2008, it was data warehouse scale that got the highest level of investment.”
SQL Server is a very important product for Microsoft and it has been selling well in the recent years.
Microsoft is expected to do well with this new release.
Fausto Ibarra, director of product management for SQL Server added: “In our view, SQL Server is a lot more than a database. It is an integral part of our data platform.”
