Novell launches GroupWise 7.0 along with free SuSE Linux Enterprise Server

Novell continues to keep up its strategy to promote Linux Operating System. they launched the latest version of GroupWise 7.0 today and have bundled with it for free the SuSE Linux Enterprise Server. The company aims to take away one of the barriers to the adoption of the collaboration server with this decision to bundle a copy of the Linux Enterprise Server with their Groupware software application.

The company believes that one barrier to users buying GroupWise has been the additional servers required for the migration. Novell is also aiming to get the existing GroupWise customers to migrate from NetWare to Linux, a key part of the company’s strategy for the future with this free bundle.

The Groupware 7.0 application is however capable of running on more Operating Systems other than NetWare and Linux like Windows 2003. This latest version comes with integrated email and instant messaging, and improved Microsoft Outlook support.
