Windows Search 4.0 to be released through Auto Update
Microsoft has said that they are soon going to distribute a major update to the internal search mechanism on Windows OS through Windows Update.
This update would be Windows Search 4.0 and it would be released sometime this month.
The company said that this new version gives more control to enterprise IT administrators over users’ access to and use of search.
Microsoft stated: “If a Windows Vista user has set their machine to automatically install updates, Windows Search 4.0 will automatically install on PCs running Windows Vista SP1.”
This new edition would require complete re-indexing of all the data on the computer. Microsoft said that the tool has been updated to consume fewer resources for this process.
