Critical patches from Microsoft coming this Tuesday

August 9 being the second Tuesday of the month would see the monthly security release from the stables of Microsoft. The company is expected to release as many as six software patches covering flaws in its Windows operating system. This would be complemented with the new version of the Microsoft Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool and a nonsecurity update for Windows. The company released this information today.

The patches are part of the routine updates coming from the company to secure their products available in the market. They chose sometime ago to release all the updates developed during the month on the second Tuesday to make it convenient for themselves and the end consumer to stay up-to-date with the latest patches and security releases.

Microsoft has for these coming updates have not released any detailed information other than mentioning that some of these patches would be fixing critical flaws in applications. This could mean the flaws can be used to install malicious code on an affected computer without user action. The company also said that some of the updates would require the user to restart their computer after the installation for complete install.

These software updates would be available from Windows Update, Microsoft Update, Windows Server Update, and Download Center.
