Opera 8.02 is officially released
As notified earlier, Opera Software ASA uploaded a copy of the final of Opera 8.02 on the FTP servers yesterday. Now, the have officially released this final version of their latest update. This version is available for all the major platforms: Windows, Linux, and Macintosh and comes with security upgrades and smaller bug fixes.
In addition, as we reported earlier, the Bittorrent support has been removed for the time being. The company says that the effort was appreciated by the users and market analysts and they would be working on further improvement on the concept before integrating it into a final version. The changelog is also released and it mentions that this update fixes three advisories reported by security firm Secunia.
Interestingly, none of the reported security flaws are live on the Secunia website at this time. This practically means that Opera managed to release a fixed and updated version before the security vulnerabilities were announced in public. Rather impressive performance from this company based in Norway. We at TechWhack have upgraded our copies to this latest version and are quite satisfied with the update.
