Microsoft Equipt: MS Office through Subscription!

Microsoft has announced that they are soon going to launch Microsoft Equipt subscription based product suite to provide MS Office functionality to home users.

This new app would join their existing applications like Windows Live Mail, Messenger, OneCare and Photo Gallery.

The software giant said that Equipt would go on sale from July 15.

It would include Live OneCare and Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007.

It would cost $69.99 for a one year subscription that would work on three PCs.

Gartner Client Services Vice President Michael Silver spoke about this new offering from Microsoft: “Larger small businesses already have offerings like this through Microsoft’s open-licensing program, but the pricing and licensing is more commensurate with prices businesses pay. Small businesses can probably expect something like this suited to them in the future, but may have difficulty buying this version in particular because it does not contain Outlook.”
