Opera 8.02 available unofficially on Opera Servers
Opera has made available the next final (looks like it) release of their prime offering Opera Browser 8.02 on the FTP servers. The news is not official yet as the company is expected to issue a press statement tomorrow. One of the major changes in this release is that the final version comes without the Bittorrent support, which was present in the technical preview.
Reason for this is said to be that the company feels that they need to do more work on this integration of BT support and the preview release was just to showcase what the users can expect to see in opera in the coming versions. The changelog is also not available at the moment though it is expected to be released soon after the launch is made official.
The browser has a very strong fan following and with Firefox challenging the dominance of Internet Explorer in the web market, Opera is doing a good job by keeping its user up-to-date with regular upgrades providing them an excellent browser alternative. The browser is lean and comes featured packed in a sub 4 Meg download installer. We expect this version to bring some stability fixes over the preview release, which was made available a couple of weeks ago.
