PopTok launches innovative instant messaging with media
Israeli company PopTok is now inviting web users to join their beta to test a new form of instant messaging service.
The service enables the chatters to include snippets from memorable films or music videos into their instant messages.
PopTok founder Illi Edry spoke in a statement on why they decided to develop this new service: “Everybody quotes films. We produce one hour of television broadcasting for prime time at a cost of millions and at the end of the day people, quote one sentence. I came to the realization if the one hour is supporting that sentence, let’s keep the sentence.”
They have licensed popular content from movies and videos from companies including Sony, Universal, Warner and Paramount studios.
