openSUSE 11.0 released
The developers behind the openSUSE Project have released the latest version of this Linux distribution.
The blog post announcing the release claims that this edition comes with more than 200 new features specific to openSUSE.
They have redesigned the installer to make it more user friendly.
It comes with options to install GNOME 2.22, KDE 4.0 and KDE 3.5.
Compiz Fusion is included in the package. The installation disc comes with Firefox 3.0 beta 5 though the user can update to the final edition using the update utility.
openSUSE 11.0 also includes the Banshee 1.0 media player along with OpenOffice.org 2.4 and NetworkManager 0.7.

For KDE users, I’d suggest doing the install from the DVD if at all possible so you have the choice of KDE version. Definitely choose KDE 3.5 since KDE 4.0 currently leaves a lot to be desired. KDE 3.5 is much easier to configure and I’d stick with it until at least KDE 4.1 is available. I installed from the live KDE CD on my test system and had to roll back to KDE 3.5.9 in order to configure the system in the manner that I like it.
