Steve Jobs: Mac OS X Snow Leopard would be Multi-Core Processor friendly
Apple CEO Steve Jobs has said in a statement that the next iteration of the Mac OS X would be friendly with multi-core processors.
It would easier than ever for programmers to code for multi-core processors for the upcoming operating system edition.
He said: “The way the processor industry is going is to add more and more cores, but nobody knows how to program those things. I mean, two, yeah; four, not really; eight, forget it.”
The next edition of Mac OS X is named Snow Leopard.
Jobs said that the next edition of Mac OS X would focus on improving existing features and optimizing the OS for better performance. He said: “We’ve added over a thousand features to Mac OS X in the last five years. We’re going to hit the pause button on new features.”
