Acresso Software to deliver Yahoo Toolbar

Yahoo has announced that they have signed up a deal with software packaging firm Acresso Software to distribute their search toolbar.

This company develops the hugely popular InstallShield technology which is used by software companies around the world to deliver their products.

This collaboration would see them distributing the Yahoo Toolbar to its customer base of more than 500 million computers.

Market sources say that InstallShield is used by more than 71,000 organizations worldwide and this could boost the Yahoo Toolbar’s user base.

However, not every user out there appreciates being delivered a third party application when he installed some other software.

Would be interesting to see the response to this collaboration when the distribution begins.
