Blinkx introduces Search Results via RSS Feeds
Blinkx happens to be one of the most underrated searching tools around. The company continues to innovate and evolve such amazing technologies that it put most mainstream search engine companies to shame. The latest innovation from this company is the RSS feed based search results. The company said that the users could subscribe to search results, which can be delivered to their RSS aggregator as an when their engine finds any new relevant content related to it.
They call this RSS alert system, called SmartFeed. To use this new service, a user has to enter a search term on Blinkx TV. The engine then gives user the option to setup an RSS alert for it. The engine then delivers the alerts to the user’s Really Simple Syndication aggregator service as text links to the multimedia content.
The software provides searching facility to find content from more than 30 audio and video channels. These include BBC News, Fox News, CNN, Bloomberg Television, NBC, MSNBC News, ABC, and ESPN. Blinkx has also said that they would soon release an application programming interface for SmartFeed so that developers can incorporate it into their own Web sites and software.
Blinkx has also updated their engine to offer Podcasts search results from the Internet.
