IBM to offer support services for MS Office rival Symphony

US based tech giant IBM is enhancing their rivalry against Microsoft as they are now going to sell support services for Symphony branded office productivity suite.

This MS Office rival application suite has been available as a free download from their website since quite some time.

IBM said that interested companies can now buy contracts for help desk support for a flat fee of $25,000 per year.

Home and corporate users who want to use the application without any support would still get it as a free download.

Market analysts are however not impressed considering it is very rare situation for companies to require support for these simple office applications.
