MSN? Live? Microsoft planning to fix online branding mess
Microsoft’s online ventures have not been as successful as their software ventures.
The company’s offerings are rather complicated as they are featured under several brands.
For example a lot of users are still confused between the MSN and Live branding.
A lot of services overlap and the company still end up releasing new features with either of the two brandings.
A company source stated that they are now planning to fix this mess as they have decided to move on from a potential deal with Yahoo.
Kevin Johnson, president of Microsoft’s platform and services division was quoted as saying: “When we made the bid for Yahoo, the full combination of those companies would have created a whole different set of brand opportunities for our marketing teams to solve. Since we’ve moved forward in not pursing a full combination at this time, our marketing teams are liberated to go solve that brand problem.”
