Microsoft to offer Silverlight integration with Ruby on Rails
Software giant Microsoft would provide support for Ruby on Rails in their Silverlight technology which is designed to take on Adobe Flash on the web.
The company would provide this functionality through a plug-in. it would be provided for free to the attendees at the RailsConf 2008 conference in Portland.
Microsoft would also be showcasing another technology named IronRuby. IronRuby is a version of Ruby designed for their .Net platform.
Microsoft representative John Lam spoke about it in a blog post: “Running Rails shows that we are serious when we say that we are going to create a Ruby that runs real Ruby programs. And there isn’t a more real Ruby program than Rails.”
