Google Android much improved
Google showcased a prototype device running their under development Android mobile platform.
This latest demonstration was much better than previous demonstrations.
The device featured touch screen functionality, advanced graphical capabilities and Internet access.
The user interface was somewhat designed to emulate the Apple iPhone.
Vic Gundotra, Google engineering vice president spoke about Android: “We believe over time, the browser on mobile devices will be the entry point for many, many applications”.
He added about the Apple iPhone: “I wouldn’t say that at all. I think the iPhone is just a world-class device with a great Web browser that delivers in many respects on one of Google’s key goals: To bring the Web to the mobile device. We wish every mobile phone was as good as the iPhone.”
Here is a video showcasing the awesome power of the Android platform!
