Yahoo! BrowserPlus now available

Internet media giant Yahoo has now made available a public version of their BrowserPlus app.

BrowserPlus is currently available for Firefox 2 (and later) and Internet Explorer 7.

Yahoo BrowserPlus is essentially an application designed to extend the usability of a web browser by making available rich internet applications.

Using this new technology, web sites would be able to provide interactive features to the visitors.

BrowserPlus is designed to make complicated tasks like drag and drop from the desktop, file uploads easy and user friendly.

The company is also providing some demo applications to test out the capabilities of this app.

One thing remains for sure that the company needs to make this tool platform and browser independent to have any chance of making it popular amongst the web developers. Support for Firefox makes that possible but still… they would need to add support for Apple Safari and if possible Opera.
