Nokia: Linux to become more popular on Mobile Devices
World’s largest mobile phone maker Nokia has said that they expect Linux to become more popular on the mobile devices.
Linux is yet to become a very popular mobile OS though several major projects are aimed to boost the popularity of this open source platform on mobile devices.
Google is working on Android mobile platform which is expected to power mobile devices as soon as later this year.
Nokia itself is a Linux user when it comes to some of their mobile devices. The company added: “We will expand that range, and we believe that the role of Linux will grow.”
Vodafone, Motorola, NTT DoCoMo, Samsung Electronics, Huawei and LG Electronics are some other companies which have shown support for Linux on the mobile platform.
