Software giant Microsoft has now released beta version of the upcoming service pack for their Visual Studio 2008 software development platform.
The company also released a beta service pack for the .Net Framework 3.5.
The final service packs for these software products are expected to be released sometime this summer.
The company said that the service pack 1 for the Visual Studio is the first release which offers full support for SQL Server 2008.
SQL Server 2008 is scheduled to arrive in the third quarter of this year.
S. “Soma” Somasegar, senior vice president of the Microsoft Developer Division wrote about these updates in a blog post: “Some of the benefits of this profile are immediate responsiveness with a 200K bootstrapper to enable the fastest response to the application setup URL, an integrated custom UI allowing packaging of your application and the framework for a seamless install experience, and lastly incredible install speed at 26.5 MB.”
