OpenOffice.org 3.0 Beta released
The developers behind the OpenOffice.org project have now released the first beta of version 3.0.
This new updated version comes loaded with features like ODF 1.2 support, Microsoft Office 2007 Import Filters, charting enhancements, improved note capabilities in Writer, new icons, enhanced pdf export, multi-monitor support for impress, and a start center.
There is also good news for Mac OS X users as this version would work without the need for X11 to be installed.
A release candidate edition of this edition is expected to be released in July this year. Final version could be out by September.
