Google Reader updated with new social features
Search engine giant Google has now updated their Reader web based RSS application with new features.
Most of the new enhancements are geared towards making the application social friendly.
This means that users are now able to share more of the stuff they find online.
And that stuff need not be related to RSS feeds.
The new features include:
Bookmarklet: They are now providing a bookmarklet which can be used to share any kind of content on the web. This works on websites which do not feature RSS functionality.
Sharing of items with notes: Users can now attach small notes along with items they are sharing with their friends.
Notes: Google Reader users can now just post a manual note to shared items to deliver a message to their friends.
Customized shared item pages: They now have themes!
