Microsoft starts testing Live Mesh program
Software giant Microsoft has announced that they are now testing their Live Mesh program.
This new technology has been designed to collect various files owned by the same user scattered across different machines at a central location.
This service would use the internet as the central hub to store all the information. It would then be made available from any place where web access is available.
The data would be synchronized from all the sources continuously to make sure the central database is updated.
The program is currently being tested by around 10,000 people and is limited to the Windows operating system.
Microsoft is working on expanding it to other platforms including Mac, mobile devices.
Ray Ozzie spoke about this technology: “As our industry has evolved because of this Web-catalyzed services transformation, so too has Microsoft.”
