Tellme launches voice search for RIM Blackberry platform
Microsoft’s subsidiary Tellme has announced the launch of their voice search technology for the Blackberry platform.
This new technology enables the user to speak commands into their Smartphones. They would be able to use this feature to perform activities like searching, checking traffic and other activities.
The system uses GPS information and MSN Live Search engine to deliver the end result on the mobile device.
For now, it is compatible with only few of the Blackberry devices available in the market. The company is also working on this service for other platforms like the Helio, Apple iPhone and of course Windows Mobile powered devices.
Mike McCue, founder and general manager of Tellme spoke about this technology launch: “People are getting more frustrated with the fact that these cell phones are getting smaller and smaller, but more and more function is getting crammed into them. To try to get anything done — navigate through all these menus — it takes time. To try to do that while driving, walking, on the go, is very challenging.”
