LiveUniverse acquires Pageflakes
Social entertainment company LiveUniverse has announced that they are acquiring the providers of personal home pages Pageflakes.
The financial details of the acquisition were not revealed to the media.
As part of the deal, Pageflakes would continue operating from their headquarters in San Francisco. They would also retain their staff.
Dan Cohen would also continue to remain the boss at the company.
Cohen spoke about the deal on the company blog: “You can count on the fact that everything that you (and we) love about Pageflakes will remain the same, while the resources Brad and LiveUniverse will be investing in us will help us make it even better.”
He added: “As we worked through the partnership, we realized that we’d actually both be better off combined — in addition to the other synergies, we’d get all that “business school stuff” like much lower operational costs, and more economies of scale.”
