Ubuntu 8.04 LTS release candidate version released
The developers behind the Ubuntu Linux distribution have released the first release candidate version of their Ubuntu 8.04 LTS (Long-Term Support).
They have made available both desktop and server edition of this distribution. The final release is just few days away.
The developers said in the release post:
We consider this release candidate to be complete, stable, and suitable for testing by any user.
The final release of Ubuntu 8.04 LTS is scheduled for 24 April 2008. This is the LTS version which means that this release will be supported for three years on the desktop and five years on the server.
