Microsoft Windows XP Starter Edition for Mexico

Microsoft has announced plans to make available the Microsoft Windows XP Starter Edition for their customers in the Mexico country. They have further plans to expand the scope to the entire Latin American region in the future. The Spanish-language Windows XP Starter Edition will be made available very soon to the prospective customers in Mexico and Argentina.

The starter edition of Windows is pretty similar to regular version of Windows XP but is targeted at the developing countries of the world with low per capita income. It comes with limitations to utilize the full resources, which is not a big hindrance for customers with limited requirements from their machines.

This special version of the Windows Operating System is already available in markets like Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia. However, market sources say that the response has been dull considering the cheap pirated copies of the regular version of the Windows OS are easily available of the shelves in most of these countries.

The latest markets to receive this edition of Microsoft Windows XP Starter Edition are the Brazilian and Indian market. Russia is also expected to join this group of countries as soon as the government starts their low-cost PC program.
