Adobe Creative Suite CS4 announced
Adobe has now announced the latest release of their Creative Suite.
Adobe Creative Suite CS4 details were revealed and the most important information is that the company is only going to release 64-bit versions of the applications for the Windows platform.
Mac users would have to wait for the 64 bit editions. Adobe said that the main problem for this is Carbon which is used to develop most of these programs.
Apple had recently said that they are not going to support 64-bit in Carbon. This means that Adobe would have to do a lot of work to get their applications on the 64-bit platform.
Adobe Photoshop product manager John Nack spoke about this problem: “We have to rewrite from scratch. This makes the cost of the move considerably greater than for Windows. So we will ship 64-bit Windows version first.”
The company launched the 64-bit beta version of Lightroom for the Apple Mac platform. They had used the Cocoa for developing this app and this made it easier for them to bring it to the 64-bit platform.
