Intel Centrino Atom to power both XP and Vista based mobile devices
Intel has said that their upcoming Centrino Atom mobile platform would power devices based on both Windows XP and Windows Vista in addition to Linux OS.
Gary Willihnganz, director of marketing at Intel’s Ultra Mobility Group said in a statement: “The platform is going to be enabled for both Windows XP and Windows Vista.”
The company has said that they are going to call the devices powered by Atom processors Mobile Internet Devices.
Intel showcased some prototype devices based on Atom platform at a news conference in Tokyo.
