Why web browsers are free nowadays?
If you remember the time when you had to pay for a web browser like Netscape Navigator to browse the web, you would be amused to see that you have plenty of free alternatives to pick from today.
One of the primary reasons behind this is companies like Google which pays the maker of the browsers for every search that is made using the search box on the browser.
Almost every web browser product today comes with a search box. If you make a search from that box, Google detects the browser and pays a bit to the maker of that software company.
Mozilla, Opera and apparently Apple are some of the beneficiaries of this concept. They make decent amount of money from this concept and the consumer gets to use the web browser for free!
