Adobe Flash might not come to Apple iPhone after all
Adobe surprised the market analytics recently when it said that they were going to develop a version of Flash for the Apple iPhone.
The company had said that they would be using the Apple iPhone SDK to develop the Flash edition for the iPhone.
However, it was not as simple as it sounded. The company has now said that they would need Apple’s cooperation if Flash has to in fact come to the iPhone platform.
Adobe said: “However, to bring the full capabilities of Flash to the iPhone Web-browsing experience, we do need to work with Apple beyond and above what is available through the SDK and the current license around it.”
The licensing condition prohibits any such kind of add-on on the iPhone which acts as a plug-in for the iPhone Safari web browser.
Adobe however remains hopeful that Apple would give them the required approvals: “We think Flash availability on the iPhone benefits Apple and Adobe’s millions of joint customers, so we want to work with Apple to bring these capabilities to the device.”
