SUSE Linux Enterprise 11 announced

Linux company Novell has now announced SUSE Linux Enterprise 11.

However, this release is still long time away though they have now specified the major changes and updates in this edition of SUSE Linux.

Justin Steinman, director of product marketing for Novell’s Linux & Open Platform Solutions said that this release would focus on primarily three areas of critical importance: interoperability, Unix migration, and virtualization.

He added about the company’s partnership with Microsoft: “I would suspect that the majority of SMBs have Windows in some shape or form inside their organization. so one of the things we want to continue to deliver in Enterprise 11 is extending our interoperability leadership in working with Windows. We like to say that SUSE Linux Enterprise is Linux that’s been optimized to work with Windows. We think that’s a core differentiator and also a core benefit for customers who are trying to make a Linux decision.”
