Google Spreadsheets updated with new features including Gadgets

Google has added new features to their Google Spreadsheet online application provided through Google Docs.

The search engine giant as added support for online gadgets in the spreadsheets hosted by the service.

Google engineers Zach Lloyd and Mike Harm spoke about these new features in a blog post: “Developers now have an easy way to add features to Google Docs.”

The company said that they are now inviting third party developers to code for the service to add new functionalities on Google Docs.

They have provided them with spreadsheets APIs which would enable the coders to create user features accessible from within the spreadsheet editor of Google Docs.
