Sybase iAnywhere to add support for Apple iPhone
Sybase iAnywhere is all set to add support for the Apple iPhone device in their Information Anywhere Suite.
This would mean that the users of Lotus Notes will be able to securely push e-mail messages to Apple iPhone owners.
Incidentally, Apple itself has said that they are working on adding support for the Microsoft’s ActiveSync technology on the iPhone.
Sybase is aiming to expand that offering by providing support for Lotus Notes.
Senthil Krishnapillai, director of product management for Sybase iAnywhere’s mobile collaborations group said in a statement: “ActiveSync has some limitations that enterprises find, in some cases, not suitable to their environment. Those enterprises may want to use our technology because we have a better model to secure the communications between the device and a server without compromising the firewall or other security policies in place.”
