Microsoft to distribute Flash Lite and Adobe Reader for Windows Mobile

Microsoft is collaborating with Adobe to distribute their technologies through Windows mobile Operating system.

The software giant said that they are now endorsing Flash Lite and Reader programs from Adobe Systems on their mobile platform.

Adobe spokesman Gary Kovacs spoke about Flash on the web: “Flash content is the most prolific content on the web today; it is the way people express themselves on the Internet.”

Market analysts believe that the popularity of the internet on the mobile phones would grow if it is more accessible from the mobile platform.

Scott Rockfeld, group product manager at Microsoft’s mobile communications business added: “Obviously it’s one of the things that customers are asking for. Flash is something that is very prevalent on the Web.”

This collaboration would make sure that both Flash and PDF format files would be compatible on the Windows Mobile operating system. This is very good news for the users of mobile devices powered by this platform.

Incidentally, Microsoft has launched their own Silverlight technology which competes with Flash on the desktop.
