Google Apps gets A-OK On-Demand authentication service
Arcot Systems has announced that they are now offering their A-OK On-Demand authentication service to the users of the Google Apps Premier Edition users.
This feature would add another layer of security to the logon process on the Google hosted service.
With this technology, an encrypted file that is stored on their computer which is required to authenticate on the service.
Incidentally, this is the first time that Google is working with a third party company to provide two-factor authentication for Google Apps.
A company representative said: “Google has the tools to show you how to pick a good password. But to the companies that are concerned about users losing their passwords, I think the Arcot two-factor authentication product is perfect.”
