Windows Vista to cost less in some markets

Microsoft has said that they are planning to reduce the retail price of their Vista operating system in some markets.

The company is now planning to reduce the price of the Vista OS in 70 countries with the upcoming launch of Vista Service Pack 1.

Microsoft representative Brad Brooks spoke about this plan: “We anticipate these changed will provide greater opportunities … to sell more stand-alone copies of Windows.”

In the US market itself, Microsoft plans to retail Windows Vista Ultimate edition for $319. The upgrade would cost $219.
