Sun Microsystems completes acquisition of MySQL
Sun Microsystems has confirmed that they have now completed the acquisition of database company MySQL.
The company added that this acquisition would help them expand their services to take on their rivals in the market.
Jonathan Schwartz, president and CEO spoke about this acquisition: “This is the most important acquisition in Sun history, and the most important acquisition in the modern software industry.”
Sun claims that the MySQL has over 11 million users worldwide.
MySQL technology is used by some of the most popular online destinations including Facebook, YouTube and Nokia.
