New York Times makes available ShifD application
The New York Times Company has made available the beta edition of a software application which has been designed to enable users to move content between their computers and mobile devices.
This software product has been named ShifD. The company claims that this technology would prevent the need to save information separately on devices.
NYT said that the information saved on a user’s ShifD account is automatically updated on all devices.
They are currently offering three forms of categories: notes, links, and places.
Michael Zimbalist, VP of research and development operations for the Times added on this new product launch: “We see a future for device-independent media, with convergence around the user experience and not any particular delivery platform. Developing services that allow users to access content wherever they are and on whichever device they choose is an important part of our strategy.”
