Adobe Air coming to Linux soon
Adobe has said that they are working to bring their Air technology to the Linux platform in the near future.
They have just launched Air 1.0 and it is currently available on Windows and Mac operating systems.
Adobe CTO Kevin Lynch said in a statement: “This could enable a whole new frontier of applications for Linux. We’re actually looking for Linux users to help us test it.”
He said that the Linux version of AIR is currently in an alpha format.
Lynch further said that they are also going to bring Air on mobile devices which are increasingly becoming an important market for internet powered technologies.
He spoke about the possibility of having Air support on the Apple iPhone: “We’re excited about seeing it on iPhones. Our goal is AIR everywhere.”
