Latest Release of Leading Code Coverage Software Includes Configurable Risk Metrics and Enhanced Coverage Clouds

Atlassian today announced the release of Clover 2.1, the award-winning code coverage and test insight tool. Clover shows tests in a whole new light, giving confidence that tests are working in the way they were intended, and quickly pointing out ways to improve testing.

Clover 2.1 has greatly improved performance and reporting. It offers users an unparalleled level of qualitative and quantitative detail about automated tests. By helping engineers improve test quality, Clover drives code quality.

Highlights of Clover 2.1 include:

Configurable metrics reporting: a new expression language allows users to easily calculate custom metrics in reports

Per-package coverage clouds: compare classes within a specific package, showing where the investment in testing will reap the greatest rewards

Historical charting: new charts in historical reports give total control over series in the charts

Enhanced ‘movers’ section: define multiple movers per report and easily spot which classes have gained or lost coverage

Per-test coverage for merged databases: view which tests hits what code when generating combined reports across multiple databases

Greatly improved performance: significantly reduced memory footprint and execution time for reporting

“For test-driven developers, Clover 2.1 includes even more benefits to help identify where they can get most bang for their testing buck,” notes Peter Moore, Product Manager at Atlassian.

Clover is used by nearly 200 companies including: VISA, Adobe, Nokia, Microsoft and Pfizer. Clover can be connected with Atlassian Bamboo, a continuous integration server, for better automated software testing and continuous builds. A free 30-day evaluation of Clover, or any Atlassian product, can be downloaded at www.atlassian.com
