Google releases beta update of Urchin Software
Search engine giant Google has now made available a beta update to their on-premises Web analytics software Urchin.
This software product is similar to their Google Analytics service but is hosted on the organization’s machines instead of Google servers.
Google said that the new beta edition is available for evaluation purposes though it is not recommended for use on production environments.
The company said that the new edition features more accurate geo-identification of Web site visitors, cross-segmentation options, a “vastly improved” embedded scheduler to manage processing and reprocessing jobs, and an improved user interface.
They have also included in this package, e-commerce and market campaign tracking.
Once this application is out of beta, it would retail for $2,995.
